Fr. Matthew Barzare
Fr. Barzare was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on June 14, 2014. He is a native of Eunice, Louisiana and presently the Pastor of St. Anne Church in Cow Island with its mission of Sacred Heart in Pecan Island. Fr. Barzare has a B.A. in Philosophy and Liberal Arts, a Master of Divinity, and a Master of Science in Church Administration.
Christa is a wife, mother, nurse and local business owner who desires to grow the Kingdom of God by spreading the Gospel and engaging in activities that serve those in need within her community. Her faith is her greatest blessing and she obtained her Masters of Arts in Theology from Holy Apostles College & Seminary in 2019 so that she could actively learn and share her knowledge with others seeking understanding through faith.
Father Blanda was ordained for the Diocese of Lafayette in 1991 after receiving the M.Div. from Mount St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg. He is pastor at St. Mary Magdalene's Catholic Church in Abbeville. He has served in numerous capacities in the diocese, including the Diocesan School Board, the Council of Priests, the College of Consultors, the Personnel Board, and Vicar Forane for the Vermillion deanery. Rev. Fr. Patrick Broussard
I am a native of Lafayette, LA. I graduated Lafayette High School and the University of Louisiana before going to seminary. After finishing my degree in civil engineering, I decided to stop running from what I suspected was a call to the priesthood and entered seminary for the Diocese of Lafayette. I studied philosophy at St. Joseph’s Seminary College (St. Ben’s) in Covington, LA, and completed my theology studies at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (The Angelicum or The Ange) in Rome while living and receiving my priestly formation at the Pontifical North American College (The NAC).
Bishop Michael Jarrell ordained me to the priesthood on June 21, 2014 at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette. Immediately after ordination I was assigned as Associate Pastor at Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church and Student Center on the UL campus. In 2016 I was reassigned to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist as Parochial Vicar. In 2017 I became the vocation director for the Diocese of Lafayette in addition to my responsibilities at the Cathedral. From July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019 I served full-time as vocation director. In July 2019 I began my role as pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Church Point and its mission chapel, St. John in Lewisburg in addition to my responsibilities as vocation director.
Emily Byers was consecrated as a virgin living in the world by Bishop Michael Jarrell on June 16, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Lafayette. She earned her B.A. in English, as well as a B.A. in Spanish, at LSU, and received her M.A. in Theological Studies from Notre Dame Seminary in 2017. Miss Byers currently teaches Upper School literature, history, and theology at John Paul the Great Academy in Lafayette, and she also assists with vocation discernment and formation for young women in our diocese. Adam Louis Conque
Mr. Conque earned an M.A. in Catholic Theology from the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans. He has advanced training in Gregorian Chant from The Catholic University of America. He has a B.A. in Theology from Catholic Distance University in Virginia. Paul has spent over twenty-three years helping people discover the “art of living” through searching themselves, discovering a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and finding true happiness. Throughout these years, he has served in various capacities, including: president of a non-profit, speaker, mentor, consultant, coach, author, diocesan director, youth minister and college campus minister. Fr. Andre Metrejean
Dr. Jennifer E. Miller
Cajun by birth, Dr. Jennifer E. Miller completed graduate degrees at the Pontifical Universities of the Angelicum and the Gregorian, studying as well at the John Paul II Pontifical Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family in Rome. In 2013, she obtained her doctorate from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, with a thesis on Catholic social doctrine. Former coordinator of studies at the Markets, Culture and Ethics Research Centre, she has taught and published in English and in Italian. Dr. Miller is currently a professor of moral theology at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans. In collaboration with the recently-founded International Institute of Culture and Gender Studies, she is engaged in pioneering Scriptural and cultural research for a book on “a theology of masculinity and femininity.”

Fr. Moreau was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood on May 23, 1987. He followed seminary studies at Holy Trinity Seminary and Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans. He was parochial vicar at St. Mary Magdalene in Abbevile and St. John the Evangelist in Jeanerette. He has served as Pastor at St. Peter in Grand Prairie, Our Lady Queen of All Saints in Ville Platte, and presently is Pastor at St. Anne in Cow Island. Bishop Glen Provost is the Bishop of the Diocese of Lake Charles. He was ordained a priest by His Holiness Pope Paul VI on June 29, 1975 in St. Peter's Basilica, Rome, Italy.
