Catholic Theology

The Master of Arts in Catholic Theology is offered to students who have received an undergraduate degree and are able to provide a transcript from their previous institution.

Curriculum

The MACT program consists of a total of 36 credit hours offered through the University of Holy Cross. 18 credit hours will be taught locally by Acadiana priests, deacons, and theologians, and 18 credit hours will be offered remotely by UHC theology professors. The degree obtained will be from the University of Holy Cross. Click below to see the curriculum requirements for the MACT.

Application

The MA applicant must apply to both the University of Holy Cross and Aquinas Lafayette.

In the application with UHC, please select “Graduate/Master of Arts/Theology” as the “Program” under “Academic Information”. Click below to apply.

Once the application with UHC is complete, please apply with Aquinas Lafayette.

After entering your personal information, you will apply for the educational program. Select “Master of Arts in Theological Studies” as your “Program-Code”, select “Standard” as your “Year-Semester”, and select the method that you intend to take the Aquinas Lafayette courses.

Tuition

The current tuition of the University of Holy Cross values each credit hour at $615 (i.e., 3 credit hour course=$1845).

Aquinas Lafayette offers scholarships, which allow for a 3 credit hour course to be taken for only $1000 (with no hidden fees).
